Immigration to Australia is open for individuals through the skilled worker immigration program. This program was launched with the introduction of “Skill Select” initiative with the aim to ensure that skilled immigration program caters to the economic needs of Australia. General Skilled Migration (GSM) processing centers allocate the applications in accordance with the priority processing arrangements and to meet the Immigration Program planning levels set by the Australian Government.

As of July 1, 2017, the minister set priority processing arrangements for certain skilled migration visas. Below are the allocation dates that reflect this priority processing arrangements.

Faster visa decision

Most of the applications that are complete and fulfill all the requirements are finalized within three months of the lodgment of the application. However, all those applications that are not complete are likely to be finalized in more than three months because there may be any additional documents required.

A ‘complete application’ has health examinations undertaken and all required documentation uploaded to ImmiAccount before the application is allocated for assessment. Refer to our website and contact us for the details on the documents required.

If your application cannot be finalized immediately you will receive advice that your application has been allocated to a processing team. This will occur within two weeks of your allocation date and provide an email address for contact with the processing team.

If you cannot attach documents using ImmiAccount then you can provide additional documentation by emailing color scans of documents directly to the processing team once your application is allocated.

Individual visa application processing times are dependent on a number of factors.

GSM allocation dates

The tables attached below list the earliest lodgment dates for the applications that have been allocated to the processing teams. This information will help you determine when your application will be allocated and this will also help you ensure whether your application is incomplete or complete and ready for assessment.

Within each priority group, ‘complete applications’ will receive preference for assessment.

Immigration Program arranging levels take precedence over priority processing arrangements in deciding the request in which applications are considered. Allocations happen as per the requirements of these arranging levels. This implies that when necessary applications in Priority Group 4 are apportioned in front of Priority Group 3.

Group 4 are allocated ahead of Priority Group 3.
